Q: Who can participate?
A: The Drive Less Denver challenge is looking for participants who live and work in the near Downtown Denver area.
Q: What will I experience through the challenge?
A: A lot! The Drive Less Denver challenge will open your eyes to the many transportation options available downtown, but also to all the amenities that living and working downtown provides like shopping, entertainment, restaurants, recreation, and education.
Q: What do you consider to be "near-Downtown?"
A: Near-Downtown includes the Central Business District, Lower Downtown, Central Platte Valley, Ballpark, Curtis Park, Uptown, Capitol Hill, Golden Triangle, Auraria Campus, Highland, Jefferson Park, La Alma/Lincoln Park, and Five Points.
Q: Why do I need to complete an application?
A: There are only 50 spaces available in the Gold level and 200 spaces available in the Silver level parts of the program. We will select participants for these levels from the applications submitted.
Q: What happens if I am selected to participate?
A: Participants will be required to complete a daily travel log for the duration of the program. The travel log will be available on the www.drivelessdenver.com website and will require that participants indicate the number of trips and type of transportation used for each trip.
Q: Will there be some training on how to use the bus and other transportation options?
A: Definitely! There will be an orientation session in late April for all program participants and we will train you on using the bus, bike commuting, and other travel options. You won't have to go it alone!
Q: What are some of the benefits of participating in this program?
A: Aside from the rewards you will earn through participation, other benefits include saving money (think of all the parking fees and gas!), feeling healthier from walking and biking more, and learning how to use the bus and other transportation options Denver provides.
Q: Will there be challenges along the way?
A: Yes, but we're here to help you every step of the way! Just like learning to drive, you also have to learn how to use transportation alternatives. But once you understand how to use them, these options become easier to use and you'll find countless ways to drive less.
Q: What if I have additional questions?
A: Contact Aylene Quale at the Downtown Denver Partnership at 303-534-6161 or email.
