Thanks to all our participants!

What has your car done for you lately?
Could life without it be richer?

This May 2007, the Downtown Denver Partnership, with the help of several community partners, led year two of the Drive Less Denver challenge.

The challenge was a unique program designed to help people leave behind their car for the entire month of May and reward them as they use other transportation options to get around town. Results of the program show that over 19,000 miles drive-alone miles were saved by 45 people who participated in our Gold Level program.

Gold Level:
We received a great pool of applications for the Gold Level! Thank you to all who applied!

50 participants have been chosen to leave one car parked for the entire month of May. Instead of driving alone, participants will go about their daily travel by using other forms of transportation. To get them moving (without using a car), participants will be given a messenger bag filled with goodies such as an RTD monthly pass, a Denver Bike Map, the book How to Live Well Without Owning a Car, plus much more!

Silver Level:
We also had over 60 applicants pledge to use an alternative transportation option three times a week instead of driving alone. For their commitment, they will receive a goody that will help them fulfill their pledge such as RTD passes if they choose to try transit more or bicycle gear if they choose to ride their bike more.
